IA Labs, which is a digital accessibility company owned by Vision Ireland, recently announced that they are changing their name to become Vially.

Vially is a blend of the words Via and Ally, basically referring to the journey towards accessibility.

If a company wants to make sure its content is accessible, the Vially team can check its websites, apps, and documents with tools like Jaws, NVDA, and Voiceover. They then assist the company in making any changes needed to ensure universal design. Vially also provides training to companies who want to learn more about accessibility, allowing businesses and organisations to maintain high standards.

The business has worked with major organizations like Dublin Bus, who went on to win an award for their website accessibility following support from Vially.

The Dublin Bus CEO Billy Hann spoke about the importance of inclusion after the award, saying, As Ireland’s largest public transport provider, Dublin Bus is committed to inclusivity, ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, can access our services. This commitment extends to our website, where we strive to make information and services readily available to all. In collaboration with Vially, our team has worked diligently to ensure we not only meet but also maintain the highest standards. The recent recognition of excellence awarded by Digital Business Ireland is a testament to the success of our collective efforts.

It’s cool to see big organizations starting to care about accessibility and hopefully Vially will lead to lots more accessible websites, documents, and apps.
