The Library Access Service is the largest National Library Service for all people with print disabilities in Ireland. Vision Ireland’s Library promotes independence through literacy and offers a wide range of both educational and leisure books in alternative formats including audio, digital Braille, Word, PDF and EPub formats. Technology advancements with Bookshare has placed the service in the lead for digital solutions in book access for students in third level education in Ireland.

Vision Ireland’s Commercial Production Services provides business solutions to produce all media in accessible formats upon request. As the only production service in the country, Vision Ireland’s Library can reproduce a wide variety of materials in Braille, audio and large print. Previous clients include the HSE and the Department of Health.

Vision Ireland Library is the Official Partner of LEGO® Braille Bricks in Ireland.

The LEGO Braille Bricks concept is a play-based methodology that teaches braille to children who are blind or vision impaired. Newly launched, the toolkit comprises of LEGO bricks that have been adjusted to correspond to the Braille alphabet. Each LEGO brick also has a printed letter or character to ensure the tool is inclusive allowing sighted teachers and students to play on equal terms with a child with vision impairment.
