The keystrokes below are mostly Windows keystrokes so it will cover the three most used options such as Jaws, NVDA, and Narrator.

Usually, you get a Teams invite via email.
Navigate to the email in your inbox and enter on it.
Then you can get your links up by pressing Insert + F7 or alternatively, you can press tab.
You are looking for the link click here to join the meeting, when you hear this being announced press enter.
If you have Teams installed on your computer, you will get an option to open in Teams or use the web.
If you choose your default web browser you will get an option to type in your name and then press tab to choose if you want your video on or off when you join the meeting and then tab again to choose if you want your Microphone on or off, press spacebar to activate your preferred option.
Now tab to join the meeting and press enter.
Depending on the settings of the meeting, you will land in the lobby/waiting room, and someone will have to let you in. In some meetings, there is no lobby, and you will land straight in the meeting.

Mute or unmute your audio
While in a meeting in Microsoft Teams, press Ctrl+Shift+M to mute or unmute your microphone.

Turn the camera on or off
While in a meeting in Microsoft Teams, press Ctrl+Shift+O to turn the camera on or off.

Raise your hand
To raise your hand press Control + Shift + K, repeat keystroke to lower your hand.
To see if anyone else in the Teams meeting has raised their hand press

Control + Shift + L
To leave a team meeting press tab until you hear hang up and press enter or press Control + Shift + H to hang up.

Sending Chat messages to a Teams meeting

While in a Teams Meeting, you can send chat messages to the other members of the meeting, and you can read messages you receive. This can vary slightly if using a web browser but for the most consistent results use the Google Chrome browser or Microsoft Edge browser.

  1. While in a meeting, press the Tab key until you hear “Show conversation,” and press Enter. The meeting chat pane opens.
  2. The focus is on the text field for a new message. Type your message, and press Enter to send it.
  3. When others post messages, your screen reader announces them. To browse and read the sent messages, press Shift+Tab once to move the focus to the messages list, and then press the Up or Down arrow key.
  4. To close the chat pane, press the Tab key or Shift+Tab until you hear “Close right pane,” and press Enter.
  5. If you are using the Teams application on your Windows computer and you want to access chat press tab until you get to the meeting controls toolbar
  6. Press the left arrow until you hear the chat button and press enter.
  7. Type your message, then press enter to send.
