Learning through Play: 0-18 months

There will be four sessions in this series, please register your interest for any/all the groups you would like to attend. Each session will be based on a selected topic with time for parents to speak to each other. The series will be run over the next four months on the last Monday of the month at 10.30 am online via Teams. It is not necessary for your baby to be with you for this session. 

Movement is key- laying the foundations

This is the forth in a series of interactive sessions for parents/guardians of children from birth to 6 years old. These sessions are designed to guide you through the early years of your child's development.

Dr. Marta Bielawska will share her experience and will be joined by people who have already been along this journey.

Topic: How to encourage movement and outdoor activities that are fun but also beneficial for physical and sensory development.

Long Cane Users Workshop for Primary School Students 8-12yrs old

In this one-day workshop, we will cover safe travel techniques for students with low vision (cane users) It will be a fun interactive workshop with the opportunity to socialise with peers of similar age.

Lone Cane Users: Independent Travel Workshop for Secondary School Students

Vision Ireland Tallaght Unit F5, Talbot House Tallaght Cross East, Dublin 24

The focus of this workshop will be to further develop the student's orientation and mobility skills with a particular focus on public transport. 

Dublin Bus Travel Assist staff will be supporting us with this aspect of the workshop. The students will also have an opportunity to interact and socialise with their peers and staff will support conversations around the impact of their vision loss.

Independent Travel Skills Workshop for Low Vision Secondary School Students

Vision Ireland Tallaght Unit F5, Talbot House Tallaght Cross East, Dublin 24

This workshop for low vision students (non cane users) will aim to further develop the student's orientation and mobility skills with a particular focus on public transport. 

Dublin Bus Travel Assist staff will be supporting us with this aspect of the workshop. The students will also have an opportunity to interact and socialise with their peers and staff will support conversations around the impact of their vision loss.

Vision Ireland’s TY LENS 2024/25 Programme –  Applications Open

This is for students commencing the Transition Year in school in September 2024.  Our programme addresses the specific skills required for students with sight loss as they progress through the Senior Cycle and beyond. If your child is interested in applying to the TY LENS programme please complete the attached form below. Applications close on the 16th of April 2024. Please note that places are not guaranteed and are subject to needs based, due to limited resources available.
