Recently the Envision App has become available on the BlindShell Classic 2.

This is great news for owners of the smartphone with buttons. The BlindShell Classic 2 can be purchased from Vision Ireland.

First, if you are not aware of the BlindShell Classic 2, it is a tactile smartphone with buttons. It runs on Android software and has access to the Google Play Store, this allows many apps to be downloaded onto it such as WhatsApp, Google Lookout, Be My Eyes and the list goes on. It also has its own apps and extra apps can be downloaded from the BlindShell Catalogue.

And now for BlindShell Classic 2 owners the great Envision app is available to download from the BlindShell catalogue. In Talking Technology Podcast Episode 51, we had an interview with the CTO of Envision, who told us all about the innovations of the Envision Glasses and the Envision app. You can listen back anywhere you get your podcasts or try asking your smart speaker to play “Talking Technology with V I Labs Podcast”.

The Envision app can use the smartphone camera to provide vocal descriptions of written text, surroundings, and even give help finding objects and more.

People have used the Envision app to read a handwritten birthday card, the ingredients listed on the back of a cereal box, or even an entire book with a feature called batch scan. Other useful features include the ability to scan a barcode or describe a scene in front of you with the help of AI. The Envision app is available in over sixty languages.

To learn more about the features available through the Envision App on the BlindShell Classic 2, users should update to the latest software update of the BlindShell phone to be able to download the newest version of the Envision app.
